White Sox exceed expectations in first half Men’s Nike Cleveland Browns Customized Elite Alternate Orange Football Jersey Shirt

CHICAGO — Slightly better than expected would be one way to describe the first half Cleveland Browns of the 2017 White Sox season and the start of their rebuild, even with coming within two outs of being no-hit by Colorado on Sunday and with an overall record of 38-49.Men’s Nike Cleveland Browns Customized Elite Alternate Orange Football Jersey Shirt.

The team has played with intensity to the final out of every game for manager Rick Renteria, who has instilled a specific culture running throughout the organization since the start of Spring Training. Then again, this rebuild job didn’t exit Arizona with the same tanking outlook that other clubs have followed.

Not with accomplished veterans such as Jose Abreu, David Robertson, Todd Frazier, Melky Cabrera and Jose Quintana, to name a few, leading the way. Not with young talent already placed into the everyday mix.

“We haven’t been as good as we would like,” said Abreu through interpreter Billy Russo. “But we have been doing our best, and I think the second half is going to be better for us.”

Abreu’s hope could be changed quickly by a series of moves from general manager Rick Hahn before the July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline. As of the All-Star break, though, the White Sox have been competitive.

WHAT WENT RIGHT
Avisail Garcia and Abreu made up a formidable one-two punch in the middle of the White Sox order … Tommy Kahnle made adjustments on his mechanics and proved his 100-mph fastball and wipeout changeup plays at the big league level … Anthony Swarzak went from non-roster invite to a key late-inning relief piece … The White Sox rebuild received a huge boost when Luis Robert, the top international free agent, officially joined the team on May 26 with a $26 million signing bonus.Women’s Nike Personalized Chicago Bears Elite Away White NFL Football Jersey Shirt.

Must C: Abreu’s walk-off single Must C Clutch: Abreu beats Yanks with walk-off singleWhite Sox first baseman Jose Abreu hits a walk-off single in the Custom Browns Jersey 9th to defeat the Yankees, 4-3

WHAT WENT WRONG
Injuries plagued the White Sox, from Carlos Rodon missing all but three first-half starts with biceps bursitis to reliever Zach Putnam having season-ending Tommy John surgery and fellow late-inning Chicago Bears force Nate Jones limited to 11 games due to a bout with neuritis in his right elbow … Tim Anderson dealt with the first prolonged slump of his young career, although showed signs of breaking out before the break … Quintana, followed by trade rumors from the Winter Meetings on forward, finished strong after a very un-Quintana like first two months pushed his ERA to 4.49 … The starting pitching, as a whole, ranked Jordy Nelson Jersey last in the AL with 29 quality starts.

WHAT WE LEARNED
Some of the younger players not on the top prospect list showed their short-term value and as part of the rebuilt future. Matt Davidson proved to be a viable power force. Yolmer Sanchez handled second base both offensively and defensively, while Adam Engel brought his bat closer to his high-caliber defense in center field. The team should look considerably different in the second half, with trades apparently on the horizon as well as the callups of Yoan Moncada and Reynaldo Lopez.Men’s Nike Green Bay Packers Jordy Nelson Color Rush Vapor Untouchable Alternate Yellow Jersey.

FIRST HALF TOP PLAYER (NON-PITCHER): Avisail Garcia
The White Sox right fielder has gone from borderline non-tender candidate during the offseason to first-time All-Star. The team’s rebuild certainly benefitted Garcia, giving him a chance back in right field on a full-time basis. But Garcia absolutely ran with this opportunity, coming into camp 20 pounds lighter and refining his approach at the plate. Even when Garcia expands the zone, he has a greater understanding of the misstep and how to
Paul Hornung Jersey correct the issue. Abreu also deserves strong consideration, putting himself on pace for a fourth straight year with 25 home runs and 100 RBIs.

FIRST HALF TOP PITCHER: Tommy Kahnle
With Quintana struggling and Rodon hurt, the first-half honor goes to the hard-throwing right-hander by a slight edge over Robertson and Swarzak. Kahnle made a few tweaks to his pitching mechanics resulting in a 2.65 ERA over 35 games, 57 strikeouts in 34 innings and more importantly only seven walks. The story on Kahnle always centered on being able to consistently throw strikes, which he has in ’17.

FIRST HALF TOP ROOKIE: Matt Davidson
By simply watching the third baseman/designated hitter take his swings during the hitter’s mini-camp in January, it was pretty clear Davidson stood primed for a big season. There have been some blips along the way, with Davidson Custom Bears Jersey carrying a team-high 106 strikeouts into the All-Star break. But he also has clubbed a team-best 18 home runs.

White Sox Eloy Jimenez impresses with Custom Browns Jersey new club

Eloy Jimenez collected his share of memorable hits during his time in the Cubs’ system. On Thursday, the No. 8 overall prospect Chicago Bears picked up his first as a member of the White Sox, hitting a go-ahead two-run single for Class A Advanced Winston-Salem that proved the difference in a 3-2 win against his former team, Myrtle Beach.Men’s Nike Cleveland Browns Customized Elite Alternate Orange Football Jersey Shirt.

The two Chicago organizations surprised the baseball world early Thursday Custom Browns Jersey with the announcement that the Cubs were trading Jimenez, along with right-hander Dylan Cease (No. 63 overall), first baseman Matt Rose and second baseman Bryant Flete, to the White Sox in a blockbuster deal for Jose Quintana.

Luckily for Jimenez — who slots in behind Yoan Moncada as the White Sox No. 2 prospect — the process of joining his new team was a simple as switching dugouts, as Myrtle Beach was already slated to play a four-game series in Winston-Salem beginning Thursday.

Starting in right field and batting fourth in his Dash debut, Jimenez popped out in his first at-bat before delivering a two-run single with two outs in the top of the third inning. The hit, coming on a 3-2 pitch with runners on second and third base, broke a 1-1 tie and ultimately put Winston-Salem up for good. It was his only hit in four at-bats.

Jimenez, a 20-year-old outfielder, batted .271 with eight homers and 32 RBIs in 42 games this year with Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach prior to Thursday’s trade. He appeared in his second straight SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game last Sunday after earning Carolina League All-Star honors and showing his light-tower (and light-breaking) power earlier this month in the circuit’s home run derby.

The rest of the best performances from top prospects Thursday

No. 4 overall prospect J.P. Crawford (Phillies’ No. 1) hit a solo homer off of Bartolo Colon in Triple-A Lehigh Valley’s win over Rochester. It was
Paul Hornung Jersey the seventh homer of the season for the 22-year-old shortstop, who’s now gone deep five times in 11 games in July after he totaled two in his previous 66 contests.Women’s Nike Personalized Chicago Bears Elite Away White NFL Football Jersey Shirt.

No. 26 overall prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Blue Jays’ No. 1) went 2-for-4 both and Bo Bichette (No. 97 overall, Blue Jays’ No. 5) went 3-for-5 in Class A Advanced Dunedin’s loss against Tampa. The 18-year-old Guerrero’s two hits, both singles, were his first since moving up to the Florida State League, while Bichette, 19, is now 5-for-13 through three games.

• In his first start since suiting up for the World Team in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, No. 64 overall prospect Mike Soroka (Braves’ No. 4) returned to Double-A Mississippi’s rotation to fire seven scoreless innings and pace the M-Braves in a shutout of Pensacola. The 19-year-old righty allowed four hits and struck out six while generating seven ground-ball outs and throwing 61 of his 94 pitches for strikes. He’s 10-5 in 17 starts this season with a 2.37 ERA that ranks second among active Southern League hurlers.

No. 86 overall prospect Ronald Acuna’s (Braves’ No. 7) 13th home run marked his first Triple-A hit as he went on to go 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs in Gwinnett’s rout of Charlotte. The 19-year-old Jordy Nelson Jersey outfielder was promoted Custom Bears Jersey to the Minors’ highest level — already his third level in 2017 — after batting .326/.374/.520 with 24 extra-base hits including nine home runs in 57 games with Paul Hornung Jersey Double-A Mississippi. He also tallied 19 stolen bases and 30 RBIs while scoring 29 runs.Men’s Nike Green Bay Packers Jordy Nelson Color Rush Vapor Untouchable Alternate Yellow Jersey.

• Orioles No. 4 prospect Ryan Mountcastle doubled and scored a pair of runs while going 5-for-5, though it wasn’t enough to keep Class A Advanced Frederick from falling to Buies Creek, 6-5. The 20-year-old shortstop is the Carolina League’s active leader in batting (.321) and doubles (34) and runs scored (62), and he owns a share of second place with 15 home runs.

Astros No. 7 prospect Teoscar Hernandez pushed his home run total to 10 with a pair of solo shots for Triple-A Fresno in their win over Tacoma. It was the 24-year-old outfielder’s second two-homer game this season after he accomplished the feat on June 15.

• Yankees No. 9 prospect&nbsp Cleveland Browns;Miguel Andujar connected on a solo homer and finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s win over Buffalo. The 22-year-old’s second home run in three games was also his third since being promoted from Double-A Trenton, where he hit seven homers and 23 doubles in 67 games while hitting .312.

• Red Sox No. 10 prospect Brian Johnson fired seven scoreless innings to pace Triple-A Pawtucket in a shutout of Syracuse. Throwing 57 of his 90 pitches for strikes, the 26-year-old southpaw allowed three hits and two walks while striking out a pair. He’s 3-1 with a 2.68 ERA in 10 starts this season with Pawtucket.

• Pirates No. 10 prospect Taylor Hearn recorded 10 of his 14 outs via the strikeout while allowing four hits in 4 2/3 scoreless innings for Class A Advanced Bradenton. The double-digit strikeout performance marked a new career high for the 22-year-old lefty, who’s punched out 106 batters in 87 1/3 innings (10.9 K/9) this season in the Florida State League.Vintage 1961 Paul Hornung Green Bay Packers Team Color Throwback Jersey Mitchell and Ness.

Braves No. 11 prospect Touki Toussaint got back on track for Class A Advanced Florida as he racked up a season-high 10 strikeouts while tossing seven innings of one-run ball. He allowed six hits and three walks in the performance. Though the 21-year-old righty’s ERA sits at 5.46 for the season, it’s worth noting that he also has 104 strikeouts in 92 1/3 innings, during which he’s allowed just seven home runs.

• Rockies No. 15 prospect Jordan Patterson drove in five runs with a pair of home runs including a third-inning grand slam in Triple-A Albuquerque’s win against Las Vegas. He has four home runs in his last four games and 16 in 82 games this season after Thursday’s multi-homer performance, which also extended the 25-year-old’s hitting streak to six games.

Mets No. 22 prospect Chris Flexen carried a no-hitter for Double-A Binghamton into the eighth inning before allowing a solo home run with one out. It was the only hit the 23-year-old righty would allow in eight innings, as he walked one and struck out nine while throwing a season-high 108 pitches (70 strikes). He owns a 5-1 record and a 1.73 ERA through six Double-A starts, with a 43-to-4 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 41 2/3 innings.

Mayo: White Sox did well in Cleveland Browns Quintana trade

Ever since the White Sox started to clean house last offseason with the trade of Chris Sale and then Adam Eaton, questions about the when/if status of Cleveland Browns dealing lefty Jose Quintana circulated. It turns out the when was Thursday morning.

Once again, the White Sox did extremely well in terms of adding to what is already a very deep farm system by acquiring outfielder Eloy Jimenez and right-hander Dylan Cease. Jimenez, No. 8 on the current Top 100 prospects list, is a two-time Futures Gamer with the power profile that will fit perfectly in right field and draws some comparisons to Giancarlo Stanton.Men’s Nike Cleveland Browns Customized Elite Alternate Orange Football Jersey Shirt.

Cease is at No. 63 currently, but could make a healthy jump when all lists are re-ranked later this month. He’s put Tommy John surgery in his rearview mirror and was easily reaching the upper-90s mph in the Midwest League during his full-season debut. Command still needs to come, but he has frontline starter potential.

Jimenez will slot in as the White Sox’s No. 2 prospect currently, with Cease at No. 8, again subject to change with the re-ranks. Combining them with prospects brought in via those Sale and Eaton deals means the organization has added six Top 100 prospects in three trades. Add in the big international signing this summer of Luis Robert (also in the Top 100), nine of the organization’s top 13 prospects all joined the system in the past seven months or so.

It’s been a remarkable transformation Custom Browns Jersey as the White Sox have continued to be able to pluck the top prospects from rich farm systems. Yoan Moncada and Michael Kopech were No. 1 and No. 5 in the Red Sox system at the time of the Sale deal. Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez were ranked Nos. 1 and 3 on the Nationals list at the time of the Eaton trade. Now they are getting the Cubs’ Nos. 1 and 2. And that doesn’t mention the other solid prospects who were secondary acquisitions. To say the White Sox have maximized return would be an understatement.Women’s Nike Personalized Chicago Bears Elite Away White NFL Football Jersey Shirt.

Back in January, when MLBPipeline.com first unveiled all of its 2017 rankings, the White Sox system was ranked No. 3 in all of baseball, behind only the Braves and the Yankees. There will be a new top 10 organizations ranking to go along with all of the new lists, and things like Draft classes and July 2 international signings will have Custom Bears Jersey be taken into account, but it’s hard to imagine the White Sox not ascending to the top spot of that list.

Externally, the Yankees system has taken a hit in terms Jordy Nelson Jersey of graduations (Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez) and some injuries (Gleyber Torres, James Kaprielian). That probably means the Braves give the White Sox their biggest competition. They’ve lost Dansby Swanson from the top of the list, but they are still extremely deep, with some players making very large steps forward.Men’s Nike Green Bay Packers Jordy Nelson Color Rush Vapor Untouchable Alternate Yellow Jersey.

But this is really more about what the White Sox have done internally to potentially vault to that top spot. Some of the arms haven’t been consistent performers, like Giolito and Lopez from the trade front and Carson Fulmer (2015 Draft) from the homegrown talent group. And 2016 first-rounder Zack Collins hasn’t hit the way he is capable, though he did just attend the SiriusXM Futures Game. But even if some were to drop off the Top 100, others like Alec Hansen (2016 Draft), Dane Dunning (Eaton trade) and even Spencer Adams (2014 Draft) could find their way onto the Top 100 at some point.

The White Sox’s Draft haul does not add much to the top of the list, but with a top of a list like this, Paul Hornung Jersey that doesn’t hurt their standing at all. College performers like Jake Burger, Gavin Sheets and Evan Skoug will fill in the lower two-thirds of the list, adding more depth, which was the one thing the Braves could have over Chicago.

And who knows who else is coming? There are veterans who have trade value still in Chicago, like Todd Frazier, Melky Cabrera and David Robertson. If recent history is any indication, the White Sox will get more than expected in return, leaving no doubt at all about which is the top farm system in all of baseball.

White Sox trade Jose Quintana for Custom Browns Jersey 4 players

CHICAGO — On Tuesday, White Sox general manager Rick Hahn, at the All-Star FanFest in Miami with his youngest son, Charlie, ducked behind an exhibit to take a call.

On the other end? Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein, who was Custom Browns Jersey interested in left-hander Jose Quintana.

By that night, the deal was agreed to and on Thursday the clubs announced the major crosstown trade that sent the White Sox ace to the defending World Paul Hornung Jersey Series champs in exchange for two Top 100 Prospects in outfielder Eloy Jimenez (No. 8) and right-handed pitcher Dylan Cease (No. 63), plus first baseman Matt Rose and infielder Bryant Flete.
Rogers on Sox dealing Quintana Rogers on White Sox decision to trade QuintanaMLB.com columnist Phil Rogers breaks down why the White Sox traded pitcher Jose Quintana to the Cubs for four prospects

“Frankly, it’s incredibly difficult to trade a player like Quintana. Perhaps even more so because of the type of person he is and what he’s meant to this Cleveland Browns organization,” Hahn said. “The Cubs are getting not only a great pitcher who we expect will thrive for them but also a tremendous clubhouse presence and a great person. It’s not easy to let someone like that walk out the door.”

Adding Jimenez and Cease, the Cubs’ top two prospects, gives the White Sox nine of the Top 100 Prospects in baseball according to MLBPipeline.com, which is tied for the most in the Majors. Those two newly acquired players join
Men’s Nike Cleveland Browns Customized Elite Alternate Orange Football Jersey Shirt Yoan Moncada (No. 1), right-hander Michael Kopech (No. 11), outfielder Luis Robert (No. 23), right-handers Lucas Giolito (No. 28), Reynaldo Lopez (No. 36) and Carson Fulmer (No. 59) and catcher Zack Collins (No. 68) on the Top 100 list.

• Hahn has plenty of work to do before Deadline

It is just the latest deal in the White Sox ongoing rebuild that has remade the organization from top to bottom. Hahn hated to give up Quintana, not only an All-Star hurler but an All-Star person, deeming his conversation with the 28-year-old southpaw one of the most difficult he has ever had.

But this latest prospect haul, with Jimenez taking the No. 2 spot among White Sox prospects and Cease sliding in at No. 8, builds on that critical mass needed for sustained success in the near future.

“We do feel we are closer in achieving our long-term goals today than we were yesterday,” Hahn said. “We feel this package of prospects we received today not only was far and away the best offer, the Jordy Nelson Jersey best possibility, that we’ve discussed with any club since we’ve started this process roughly a year ago or so, but it’s one that allows us to continue to add to the prospect base that we’ve accumulated in a potentially high-impact way.”

Hahn and Epstein exchanged text messages shortly after the 2017 MLB Draft, checking on needs and potential fits, but those interactions didn’t lead to more talk until Sunday morning.

At that point, Hahn reached out to Epstein to tell him something was going to happen with Quintana in the coming days. Hahn had a fairly clear sense of what it would take for the Cubs Custom Bears Jersey to land Quintana, if they had interest. They were, and by Tuesday the deal was agreed upon, and
Vintage 1961 Paul Hornung Green Bay Packers Team Color Throwback Jersey Mitchell and Ness details were finalized Wednesday night.

“There’s nothing for us to talk about with the Cubs without Jimenez being part of it,” Hahn said. “We view him — and I think the industry, as well, so it’s not just our potentially biased opinion or subjective opinion — we view him as similar to Moncada, where Yoan was in his development the year before we acquired him, with the potential to grow into a potent offensive force. Again, one of the more exciting prospects in baseball with a diverse skill set that can impact the game multiple ways.”

Jimenez, 20, is batting .271 with eight home runs, 32 RBIs and 23 runs scored over 42 games this season with Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach in the Carolina League. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Jimenez missed the first six weeks of the season with a right shoulder injury, but he rebounded to earn a spot on the World Team at the SiriusXM Futures Game for the second consecutive season.

Cease, 21, is 1-2 with a 2.79 ERA in 51 2/3 innings, with 74 strikeouts and a .214 opponents average over 13 starts this season with Class A South Bend. He has allowed one or no runs eight times and three hits or fewer 10 times, while averaging 12.9 strikeouts per nine innings. Cease threw six hitless innings on April 19 at Great Lakes, and he struck out 10 batters over 4 2/3 innings on April 29 at Fort Worth.

Quintana has a 4.49 ERA over 18 starts, but admitted to Hahn being somewhat affected by all of the trade talk. The 2016 All-Star moves to the North Side and joins a rotation fighting for a second straight championship, a feat the White Sox hope this same deal helps them accomplish in the future.

“Our intent was to get the best possible package of talent back, guys we project to be not only potential contributors to a championship club but impactful talent on a championship club,” Hahn said. “We tried to craft what we felt was an appropriate cutoff line for what we felt was a fair return of a player of Jose’s talent and control.

“It did yield not only this offer that we took from the Cubs but others we felt were above that line here in recent days. But, ultimately, the Cubs yield was far and away the most attractive given the potential impact of the front end of the deal.”

White Sox Rick Hahn not done Cleveland Browns making deals

CHICAGO — Rick Hahn’s rebuilding work with the White Sox deserves the Cleveland Browns highest grades to date.

But after acquiring outfielder Eloy Jimenez, the No. 8 prospect overall per MLBPipeline.com, and right-handed pitcher Dylan Cease (No. 63) as part of a five-player deal sending Jose Quintana to the Cubs, there’s still more miles to travel for the White Sox general manager.

“We’ve got work to do over the next couple of weeks,” said Hahn during a Thursday conference call following the announcement of the 15th trade all-time between the Cubs and White Custom Browns Jersey Sox. “We’re not going to force anything, just as we didn’t with the Quintana deal. We’re certainly ready to move forward on the next one, should the right opportunity arise.”

Closer David Robertson, third baseman Todd Frazier, right-handed reliever Anthony Swarzak and left fielder Melky Custom Bears Jersey Cabrera lead the list of prime trade candidates remaining on the White Sox moving toward the non-waiver Trade Deadline, with Frazier, Swarzak and Cabrera set to become free agents after this season. Robertson is owed $13 million in ’18 and the remainder of $12 million for ’17.

That group of players won’t command as much in return as Quintana, but still should enhance the critical mass of young talent assembled by Hahn. Any of the four also could become August trade candidates if not moved before July 31. In that August scenario, players must be placed on waivers and can be traded if they clear. If a player is claimed, a trade can be arranged with the claiming team within two business days, the original team can pull back the player, or it can allow the claiming team to take him.

Players such as first baseman Jose Abreu, reliever Tommy Kahnle and even All-Star outfielder Avisail Garcia figure to bring a higher return, although all three could be part of the White Sox rebuild moving forward.Men’s Nike Cleveland Browns Customized Elite Alternate Orange Football Jersey Shirt.

Basically everyone on the active roster except shortstop Tim Anderson and
Jordy Nelson Jersey left-handed starter Carlos Rodon stand as trade candidates.

“I think we’ve made great strides in the last 12 months,” Hahn said. “I think we’ve had two very fine Drafts. I think we’ve made a tremendous, potentially impactful international signing in Luis Robert, and with the [Quintana] trade, we’ve acquired some very highly regarded, potentially impact players.
Women’s Nike Personalized Chicago Bears Elite Away White NFL Football Jersey Shirt.

“In terms of how close we are to the end of this process, I don’t have an answer for that yet. We still have more work to do over the next, however many, 15, 16 days there are before this Trade Deadline. There will be more work tScott Merkin has covered the White Sox for MLB.com since 2003. White Custom Browns Jersey Sox Adams, Angels Long duel Birmingham

Spencer Adams and Grayson Long made up for a limited slate of Minor League games on Tuesday as the two hurlers engaged in a Southern League duel that Custom Browns Jersey saw Long and Mobile shut out Birmingham, 1-0.

Adams, the White Sox No. 12 prospect, was a tough-luck loser for Birmingham even though he set a career high with 12 strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings. Throwing 62 of his 99 pitches for strikes, he allowed one earned run on two hits while walking two. Overall, the 21-year-old righty has pitched to a 3.63 ERA with 89 strikeouts and 18 walks in 106 2/3 innings (17 starts) for the Barons.

Long, meanwhile, fired six scoreless frames, scattering three hits while walking one and striking out eight to match his season high. It was his first BayBears victory since May 26, snapping a streak of seven starts without a win.

That’s not to say the Angels’ No. 5 prospect hasn’t been good of late, however. After Tuesday’s strong performance, Long owns a 1.46 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 24 2/3 innings over his last five starts — a stretch that has helped the 23-year-old right-hander lower his Double-A ERA to 2.97 through 78 2/3 frames (15 starts).

Providing the offensive support for Long was Angels No. 2 prospect Matt Thaiss, who went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in his Double-A debut. A first-round Draft pick in 2016, Thaiss was promoted to Mobile after hitting .265/.353/.399 with eight homers in 84 games with Class A Advanced Inland Empire.

The rest of the best performances from top prospects Tuesday

• Coming Cleveland Browns off of his impressive showing in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, No. 86 overall prospect Ronald Acuna (Braves’ No. 7) connected Jordy Nelson Jersey on his 12th home run in a 1-for-4 performance for Double-A Mississippi. The homer was the 19-year-old center fielder’s ninth in 56 games with the M-Braves, during which he’s hitting .318 with 18 steals.

D-backs No. 4 prospect Dawel Lugo plated three runs and went 2-for-4 to pace Double-A Jackson’s offense in a win over Mississippi. The 22-year-old third baseman has opened the season’s fourth month on a tear, posting a .389 average with four doubles and eight RBIs in 11 games.

Indians No. 5 prospect Nolan Jones doubled in his first at-bat and added an RBI single in his second trip to the plate en route to his third multihit game for Class A Short Season Mahoning Valley. The double was the fourth of the season for the 2016 second-rounder, who owns a .741 OPS through Custom Browns Jersey his first 19 games in the New York-Penn League.

• In his first game back since representing the U.S. in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, Marlins No. 3 prospect Brian Anderson went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two walks as Double-A Jacksonville edged Biloxi, 4-3. • Marlins No. 13 prospect Albert Guaimaro extended his hitting streak to eight games in the Rookie Gulf Coast League with his second multihit performance of the season. The 18-year-old went 2-for-6 with a triple, two runs scored and a stolen base.

Twins No. 4 prospect Fernando Romero lowered his ERA to 2.78 behind five scoreless innings for Double-A Chattanooga. He allowed two hits, walked one and struck out five, with 43 of his 63 pitches going for strikes in the outing. The team should look considerably different in the Custom Bears Jersey second half, with trades apparently on the horizon as well as the callups of Yoan Moncada and Reynaldo Lopez.

FIRST HALF TOP PLAYER (NON-PITCHER): Avisail Garcia
The White Sox right fielder has gone from borderline non-tender candidate during the offseason to first-time All-Star. The team’s rebuild certainly benefitted Garcia, giving him a chance back in right field on a full-time
Paul Hornung Jersey basis. But Garcia absolutely ran with this opportunity, coming into camp 20 pounds lighter and refining his approach at the plate. Even when Garcia expands the zone, he has a greater understanding of the misstep and how to correct the issue.

There have been some blips along the way, with Davidson carrying a team-high 106 strikeouts into the All-Star break. But he also has clubbed a team-best 18 home runs.

Orioles’ Welington Castillo hits grand slam

CHICAGO Customized Cleveland Browns Jersey — Welington Castillo smacked his first career grand slam and recorded a career-best five RBIs as the Orioles snapped their six-game losing six, and an 0-11 mark on the road, with a 10-6 win over the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field on Wednesday night.

“You kind of think you’re having ‘Groundhog Day’ there for a little while, but guys just refused to give in,” Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. “It’s been a tough stretch for us. We didn’t pitch particularly well, but we were fortunate there were a lot of balls hit hard they we were able to make plays on.”

Full Game Coverage

White Sox right-hander Miguel Gonzalez sat through a 90-minute rain delay before surrendering a season-high eight runs — his most since June 25, 2016, at Toronto — with seven of those runs coming in the fourth and fifth innings. He loaded the bases in each of those frames, allowing three to score in the fourth on a fielder’s choice and a two-run single to Hyun Soo Kim before serving up the slam to Castillo in the fifth.

Grand slams mean 40% off pizza

“I felt like my four-seam was cutting,” Gonzalez said. “The ball wasn’t doing what I wanted to. I felt like my [arm] slot was a little lower than usual. It’s something I have to fix, and then we’ll be OK.”

Castillo’s slam, which Statcast™ projected traveled 439 feet, was the Orioles’ second grand slam this season. It was also responsible for four of the seven two-out runs the team had Wednesday.

“Honestly, I like that situation,” Castillo said. “I’m the kind of guy who likes to come into that situation, because I’m not afraid to fail. This game is about making adjustments. I was just patient in that situation and he left me a fastball up, out over [the plate] and I was able to put a good swing on it.”

O’s starter Dylan Bundy lacked his typical poise and command. He allowed more than three runs for the second time this season, allowing five runs (four earned) all in the first two innings. Chicago got to him early on a two-run single, and a Matt Davidson homer. But Bundy retired nine of the last 11 batters he faced.

“Throwing and pitching are two different things there,” Bundy said. “I didn’t execute in the first two innings, and then started pitching later in the game.”

Alen Hanson slugged his first Major League home run for the White Sox in the ninth inning. It was the first pinch-hit homer of the season for Chicago.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Second chances: The Orioles looked ready to limit the damage of an early White Sox lead in the second, catching Yolmer Sanchez too far off the bag when rounding third base for what should have been the second out. Orioles second baseman Jonathan Schoop’s throw was high, allowing Sanchez to score and another runner to eventually score on Jose Abreu’s sac fly. Schoop got the last laugh, drawing a two-out walk — his 15th in 249 plate appearances — to load the bases just before Castillo’s grand slam.

“I’m one pitch away, and it’s been like that the whole year, but I’m sure it’s going to change at some point,” Gonzalez said of the Schoop at-bat Customized Carolina Panthers Jersey. “I’m going to put my head down and keep working hard, and good things are going to happen.

Schoop was pleased with his restraint during the key plate appearance.

“If you [make] a mistake, you’ve got to come up and forget about it,” he said. “I was trying to have good at-bats, and trying to [make sure] the ball is a strike. If you know me, you know I’m aggressive, and if you throw it out of the zone, I might get myself out. I had a better game plan today.”

Davidson dingers again: Davidson led off the second inning with a bang, taking Bundy to the opposite field for a leadoff homer — his third blast in as many days. Davidson’s homer had an exit velocity of 106.3 mph and traveled a projected 415 feet, according to Statcast™. This is the first time he’s hit homers in three consecutive games. The blast moved Davidson to 5-for-11 for the series with seven RBIs. He leads the White Sox with 13 home runs this season.

“He’s hitting well but it comes and goes,” White Sox manager Rick Renteria said. “I think for the most part his approach and his routine has been pretty consistent. The outcome hasn’t been what he’s wanted prior to this little spurt and all that he’s kind of picking up again. But I think again if he gets pitches he can handle he’s able to do some damage with them.”

QUOTABLE
“Was that his first career home run? Wow. Goodness. Thank you for telling me that. I didn’t know that. Custom Browns Jersey In the big leagues? Yeah. He went in there, he looked very calm at the plate. Took a couple pitches — or one pitch — and then got a pitch to hit and obviously hit it out of the ballpark. All the Men’s Nike Carolina Panthers Custom Elite Team Color Black Super Bowl 50 Bound Jersey guys were excited for him, yes.” — Renteria, on Hanson’s first career homer

“I’m going to get a couple swings off. That’s my expectation right now. I’m in the lineup … DH, first base, wherever. I’m in the lineup and that’s a big thing for me.” — Orioles rookie David Washington, who went 0-for-4 and struck out three times in his Major League debut

Shields got off to a solid start this season, posting a 1.62 ERA in three starts after a 6-19 record in 2016. Shields said he had a good feel for his stuff during his three rehab outings, and his arm strength is good to go for a full-fledged return.

Worth noting

• White Sox right fielder Avisail Garcia should be good to go despite being hit by a pitch on his left elbow during the sixth inning of Tuesday’s over the Orioles, and was listed in the starting lineup Wednesday. White Sox manager Rick Renteria said Garcia will undergo his usual routine and will be ready to play,

barring any setbacks.

• Renteria received a delayed celebration for his 100th career win as a manager Tuesday, shortly after his 101st career win when the White Sox topped the Orioles. The team gave Renteria a brief beer shower, which Renteria said caught him by surprise.

“Yeah, it did, I appreciated it,” Renteria said. “I wasn’t thinking about it. Honestly, I wasn’t aware of it. I was taken aback a little bit. I was pleasantly surprised by their interest in it. So they gave me their bath. It was interesting. It was fun.”
