In my own words:Custom Bills Jersey Steve Stone

The players in the All-Star Game would do well to keeping in mind what Vin Custom Bills Jersey Scully told us when I played in the 1980 All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium.

Scully spoke at a luncheon the players attended before the game. I’ll never forget what he said.Mens 1960 1994 Buffalo Bills 35th Anniversary Jim Kelly Mitchell and Ness Royal Blue Throwback Jersey.

“Boys, you better enjoy each and every minute of what you’re doing now and what you’ve been doing to get here. The reason is that in a blink of an eye, you’re going from the All-Star Game to the old-timers game. You better make sure you have a lot of fun playing in this game.”

I took Vin’s words to heart, because I enjoyed every minute of that All-Star Game. After nine seasons in the big leagues, it all came together for me with the Baltimore Orioles in 1980. I noticed my curveball was much more effective. I always threw it for strikes, but it was breaking sharper.

After going 2-3 to start the season, I ran off 10 straight victories to go into the All-Star Game at 12-3. My manager, Earl Weaver, who was managing the American League, selected me to be the starter.

I was ecstatic. I knew I wasn’t a great pitcher. I knew I was borrowing greatness for a short period of time. But I also knew I was going to start the All-Star Game with my parents in the stands. My mother, Dorothy, was such a big baseball fan, she went to a Cleveland Indians game the day before I was born. My grandfather Buffalo Bills said, “You can’t do that.” She said, “If I give birth at the ballpark, Bill Veeck (then Cleveland owner) will give me a pass for life.”

It was the only All-Star Customized NY Giants Jersey Game ever played at Dodger Stadium, my favorite stadium. When I was warming up in the bullpen, I told myself I’m going to listen to the first eight players get introduced, and then I’m going to stop. When they announced Bucky Dent, who was batting eighth, I just stood on the mound. I wanted to hear the PA announcer say,
Men’s Nike New York Giants Customized Elite Red Alternate Football Jersey for Sale “The starting pitcher from the Baltimore Orioles, Steve Stone.” That was really cool.

I learned something from the first batter, Davey Lopes. I threw a good curveball and he hit a rocket to Graig Nettles at third. He dove to his left and threw out Lopes at first. I realized they must have scouting reports that said I threw 65-70 percent curveballs during Personalized NY Giants Jersey the first half. I thought, “They’re all looking for the curve.”

Hence, 14 of the 24 pitches I threw were fastballs. I got into a groove and retired all nine batters I faced, with three strikeouts in three innings. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I’m probably going to be the last pitcher to go nine up, nine down in an All-Star Game. No manager in their right mind is going to let a pitcher throw three innings in one of these games anymore.

One thing I didn’t want to do in that game was face Houston’s J.R. Richard. A couple weeks later, his career was tragically cut short when he suffered a Custom Bengals Jersey stroke. But standing at 6-foot-8 with a blazing fastball, Richard will go down as one of the most intimidating pitchers in baseball history.Men’s Nike Personalized Cincinnati Bengals Elite Alternate Orange Football Jersey Shirt.

When I get to the plate, I told Johnny Bench, “John, I haven’t hit in six years, and when I could hit, I couldn’t hit. On top of that, I’m scared to death. Go tell J.R., please don’t hit me. I’m having the year of my life and I’d like to continue it.”

Johnny says a few words to J.R. The first pitch then comes in and it really pops in Bench’s glove. Afterward, they told me it was 103 miles per hour. Johnny says, “He must not want you to embarrass him because he’s throwing harder to you than everyone else.”

With maybe the exception of facing J.R., I have such fond memories of that game. Vin, though, was right. It is a short time from the All-Star Game to the old-timers game.

At the time, I was having the best year of my career. I’d go on to finish 25-7 and win the American League Cy Young Award. I was 32, and I thought I had another five or six good years. I didn’t know tendinitis would end my career in less than two years.

So I hope the guys enjoyed every minute of the All-Star Game. I’ll never forget when I struck out Bob Welch to finish the third inning. TV showed me with a big smile when I walked off the mound. I was looking at my parents. That smile was for them.

Avisail Garcia continues Custom Bengals Jersey hot streak with 2 HRs

CHICAGO — Avisail Garcia called his All-Star appearance in Miami life-changing. In Sunday’s 7-6 extra-innings loss against Seattle, he showed he’s still the same dominant force, with his second multi-homer game of theens 1960 1994 Buffalo Bills 35th Anniversary Jim Kelly Mitchell and Ness Royal Blue Throwback Jersey season.

It was the sixth multi-homer game of Garcia’s career and first since May 20, Custom Bengals Jersey when he homered twice at Safeco Field, also against the Mariners in a 16-1 win.

Full Game Coverage

Garcia knocked both homers in the first three innings off Mariners starter Andrew Moore, continuing his hot start Custom Bills Jersey to the second half of the season after a sore left knee and a sprained right middle Buffalo Bills finger caused him to go 1-for-31 entering the break.

Healthy and rejuvenated from his time in Miami, Garcia went 5-for-13 over three games – including Sunday’s 2-for-5 performance — with a pair of homers against Seattle to open the season’s second half.

“I think that the All-Star break might have given him a little charge, made him feel a little better,” White Sox manager Rick Renteria said. “We’re glad his knee is feeling good and his hand is feeling good, that he’s continuing to put together some obviously very good at-bats.”

The 26-year-old right fielder led off the second inning by taking Moore’s first pitch, an 80.4-mph slider, 422 feet to right center field, as projected Customized NY Giants Jersey by Statcast™, to open up the scoring. It was his first homer since June 20, and first at Guaranteed Rate Field since May 13 against the Padres.Men’s Nike New York Giants Customized Elite Red Alternate Football Jersey for Sale.

He came up again with one out in the third and Jose Abreu on first base and drove a 3-1 changeup to left field, admiring his shot as it traveled 415 feet, as projected by Statcast™, to extend Chicago’s lead to 5-0.

“Staying and tracking on baseballs when they leave them where they shouldn’t, putting a pretty good swing on them,” Renteria said of the homers. “He’s a pretty strong guy.”Men’s Nike Personalized Cincinnati Bengals Elite Alternate Orange Football Jersey Shirt.

Garcia has now tied his career high with 13 homers this season, matching his entire 2015 total in just 81 games. He’s five away from matching his career-Cincinnati Bengal best of 59 RBIs, also from 2015, and his .313 average and .867 OPS are both well above his career averages. After a career-shifting performance in the first half of the season, Garcia said he’s determined to show his first 3 1/2 months and trip to the All-Star Game were no fluke.

“It’s big,” Garcia said. “I had fun over there, enjoyed my days over there. It’s time to get ready, two more months in the second half. I’m trying to help my team win [and keep it going.]”

Renteria said he’s seen a changed Garcia all season, and that Sunday’s outburst was an indicator his elevated performance was here to stay.

“He’s a young man who’s continuing to mature and get more and more comfortable in his own skin,” Renteria said. “The confidence that comes with becoming an All-Star certainly plays a part in that. I think it’s something he’s going to be able to build upon and keep moving forward and hopefully it’s a part of who he’s going to become perpetually moving forward.”

Nate Jones has surgery,Customized NY Giants Jersey will miss rest of 2017

CHICAGO — White Sox reliever Nate Jones underwent nerve repositioning surgery on his right elbow on Tuesday, costing him the remainder of the 2017 Customized NY Giants Jersey season.

Jones, 31, pitched in 11 games during the 2017 season and posted a 2.31 ERA, striking out 15 and walking six over 11 2/3 innings. The right-hander has been on the disabled list since May 4 (retroactive to May 1) with right elbow neuritis and has not pitched Custom Bills Jersey in a game since throwing a scoreless inning in Detroit on April 28.Mens 1960 1994 Buffalo Bills 35th Anniversary Jim Kelly Mitchell and Ness Royal Blue Throwback Jersey.

After throwing off flat ground on Friday in Denver, Jones still felt uncomfortable and returned home Sunday before the end of the first half to be re-evaluated. The good news is that the ligament was intact and not the issue in the elbow.Men’s Nike New York Giants Customized Elite Red Alternate Football Jersey for Sale.

“That’s unfortunate,” said White Sox general manager Rick Hahn of Jones’ setback. “Part of the Tommy John surgery sometimes is moving the nerve, to have it displaced. Over the course of time since his Tommy John surgery, as happens in some cases, some Buffalo Bills scar tissue forms around the nerve, which creates irritation with throwing, and that is unfortunately what Nate experienced, and ultimately they had to go in and clean up the scar tissue, best I can understand it.

“From a long-term prognosis standpoint, yes he is out for the year. However, he’s expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of Personalized NY Giants Jersey Spring Training next year. Obviously we all know how hard of a worker Nate is, and we saw how successful he came back from the original surgery, so we are optimistic that he’ll follow the same path this time around and be a solid contributor in ’18.”

In 2014, while rehabbing from a microdiscectomy, Jones underwent Tommy John surgery, as referred to by Hahn, on July 29. He made a career-high 71 appearances during the ’16 campaign, tying for the American League lead with a career-high 28 holds. Fifty-six of his 71 appearances were scoreless, 39 were hitless, and he recorded at least two strikeouts 22 times.

This season marks the second year of a three-year, $8 million deal for Jones and the White Sox. There are club options for 2019, ’20 and ’21.

Urias, MLBPipeline.com’s No. 94 overall prospect, went 3-for-5 with a double Customized NY Giants Jersey and three RBIs on Thursday to improve his batting average to .305 for Double-A San Antonio. The 20-year-old middle infielder has been anything but overmatched against older competition in the Texas League, where he’s tallied 97 hits including 22 extra-base while compiling more walks (46) than strikeouts (41) in 82 games.

Fedde, 24, is set to make his third start for Triple-A Syracuse since being moved back into the starting rotation from the bullpen. After failing to record an out in his first Triple-A start (6 ER, 5 H, 2 BB), the No. 49 overall prospect bounced back to strike out four of the nine batters he faced over three perfect innings in his subsequent turn. As a reliever, Fedde posted a 3.86 ERA with seven strikeouts in 9 1/3 innings spanning six appearances.Men’s Nike New York Giants Customized Elite Red Alternate Football Jersey for Sale.

Duel of the day: Thomas Hatch (Cubs’ No. 8) vs. Dane Dunning (White Sox No. 13), Myrtle Beach vs. Winston-Salem (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)

After a shaky start to his season, Hatch has been nothing short of dominant for Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach for the better part of the last two months. Over his past nine starts, the 22-year-old right-hander has pitched to a 1.31 ERA with 49 strikeouts in 48 innings. Opposing hitters, meanwhile, are slashing just .239/.296/.328 against him in that span.

The four earned runs surrendered by Dunn in his latest outing for Winston-Salem was more than the 22-year-old right-hander allowed in his previous four starts combined. History of trades between Cubs and White Sox

With the 2017 Trade Deadline just weeks away, it was the Windy City that kicked off the action.

The Cubs and White Sox pulled off their first trade in more than a decade on Thursday, and it was a big one. To the North Side: longtime White Sox workhorse Jose Quintana. To the South Side: the Cubs’ top two prospects, outfielder Eloy Jimenez and right-hander Dylan Cease, and two others.

“This notion that we wouldn’t do business with them because they’re in town, or somehow we would actually take an inferior baseball deal for non-baseball reasons — because of emotion or a rivalry, or something totally unrelated to putting the best possible team on the field for the next several years, is frankly somewhat laughable,” White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said Thursday. “If we really felt motivated to take an inferior baseball deal, to Mens 1960 1994 Buffalo Bills 35th Anniversary Jim Kelly Mitchell and Ness Royal Blue Throwback Jersey not put this organization in the best possible spot to win multiple championships simply because of emotion, then we would be the wrong people running this club.”

The last trade between the two Chicago Personalized NY Giants Jersey clubs took place on November 16, 2006, when the White Sox sent Neal Cotts to the Cubs David Aardsma and Carlos Vasquez.

All told, there have been 26 Cubs-White Sox trades in the teams’ long Custom Bills Jersey histories. Here’s a look back at some of the more notable deals:Men’s Nike New York Giants Customized Elite Red Alternate Football Jersey for Sale.

July 29, 1998: White Sox trade Matt Karchner to the Cubs for Jon Garland

Garland was a first-round pick by the Cubs in the 1997 Draft, but they traded him a year later in a Deadline deal for the reliever Karchner as they geared up for a playoff push. The Cubs did win the Wild Card, their first playoff appearance since 1989, but Karchner struggled, with a 5.14 ERA in 29 appearances for the Cubs that year.

Garland, meanwhile, went on to become a franchise mainstay on the South Side. He pitched his first eight seasons with the White Sox in a 13-year career. He was a key member of the starting rotation for the 2005 team that ended the franchise’s 88-year World Series drought, going 18-10 with a 3.50 ERA, making the All-Star team and finishing sixth in American League Cy Young voting. In two postseason starts, Garland threw a complete game to beat the Angels in the ALCS and went seven innings in a win over the Astros in the World Series.

March 30, 1992: Cubs trade George Bell to the White Sox for Sammy Sosa and Ken Patterson

In exchange for the veteran outfielder Bell, the Cubs got one of the most powerful sluggers to ever play the game. Sosa was just 23 years old when he played his first game for the Cubs, but he would go on to crush 545 home runs in 13 seasons with the team. That included 66 in 1998, when Sosa lost the memorable home run race to Mark McGwire but won the NL MVP trophy. Sosa was a seven-time All-Star and six-time Silver Slugger with the Cubs, leading the league in homers twice and hitting 40 seven times.

Bell was a former MVP and coming off an All-Star season with the Cubs at the time of his trade to the White Sox. But he ended up playing only two more seasons on the South Side before retiring in 1993, as he struggled through Buffalo Bills knee injuries.

January 25, 1983: White Sox trade Steve Trout and Warren Brusstar to Custom Bengals Jersey the Cubs for Scott Fletcher, Randy Martz, Pat Tabler and Dick Tidrow

This was the largest trade between the two clubs by total number of players. Trout ended up having the main impact among those involved, as he was a member of the Cubs’ rotation in 1984 that helped the Cubs make the playoffs for the first time in 39 years. Trout went 13-7 with a 3.41 ERA in 32 games for the ’84 Cubs. He won Game 2 of the NLCS against the Padres with an 8 1/3 inning, two-run effort and pitched 2/3 of an inning in relief in Game 5.

December 11, 1973: Cubs trade Ron Santo to the White Sox for Ken Frailing, Steve Stone, Steve Swisher and Jim Kremmel

Santo was on the tail end of his Hall of Fame career, but he was still a nine-time All-Star and five-time Gold Glover who had played all 14 of his Major League seasons with the Cubs at the time of his trade to the South Side. He had made the Midsummer Classic in each of his last three years with the Cubs.

Earlier that year, Santo had become the first player to use 10-and-5 rights to block a trade, which would have sent him to the Angels. With the third baseman’s preference to remain in Chicago, a deal was worked out with the White Sox. Santo retired at age 34 after one season with the Sox.

Look for White Sox to Custom Bengals Jersey make more trades

CHICAGO — If your name isn’t Tim Anderson or Carlos Rodon and you are a player on the White Sox active roster, you might do better to rent than to Custom Bengals Jersey buy in the Chicago area.

That statement isn’t meant to be glib, but simply an honest representation of the current White Sox rebuild. With the July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline fast approaching, general manager Rick Hahn will be listening on offers for Cincinnati Bengal pretty much everyone and anyone.Mens 1960 1994 Buffalo Bills 35th Anniversary Jim Kelly Mitchell and Ness Royal Blue Throwback Jersey.

Midterm Report

The White Sox started dealing Thursday, when left-handed starter Jose Quintana, who has put together four straight seasons of at least 200 innings pitched, 30 starts and an ERA of 3.51 or below, was dealt to the Cubs for a package of prospects.

Third baseman Todd Frazier and left fielder Melky Cabrera, who are free agents after the 2017 season, certainly would be prime trade candidates, The same holds true for relievers such as closer David Robertson, Tommy Kahnle and Anthony Swarzak.

Money could be an issue for Frazier (earns $12 million overall in ’17), Cabrera ($15 million in ’17) and Robertson (owed a little less than $19 million over the next two seasons). The prospective seems fairly straightforward: more high-end prospects to add to a critical mass that already includes MLB Personalized NY Giants Jersey top prospect in Yoan Moncada, Michael Kopech, Luis Robert and Lucas Giolito.Men’s Nike New York Giants Customized Elite Red Alternate Football Jersey for Sale.

• White Sox top prospects

The time to contend lies at least two seasons away for Custom Bills Jersey the White Sox. Building for that contention could be greatly enhanced over these next two weeks.

WHAT ARE THEY PLAYING FOR?
Some fans would argue the White Sox are playing for the best position possible in the 2018 MLB Draft, meaning the more losses, the better. But Hahn has stated a rebuild doesn’t necessarily equal tanking. The White Sox will continue to play hard, while getting a look at some of their top prospects Customized NY Giants Jersey who figure to arrive in Chicago during the second half.

THE ROAD AHEAD
The Cubs stand as the defending World Series champions while the White Sox are in rebuild mode, but their records are separated by only 4 1/2 games. So the two games at Wrigley Field on July 24-25 and two at Guaranteed Rate Field on July 26-27 should be entertaining and more competitive than many expected back in late March. The White Sox play home-and-home two-gamers with the Dodgers (July 18-19 in Chicago, August 15-16 in Los Angeles), meaning Cody Bellinger and Moncada could share the field.

KEY PLAYER
All eyes will be transfixed on Moncada, who certainly will reach the Majors this season and could be there shortly after the All-Star break. The switch-hitting second baseman consistently has shown off his wide array of skills for Triple-A Charlotte, including much improved defense at second base. As for the current big league side, the challenge for Avisail Garcia is carrying out his All-Star first half for a full season.

PROSPECTS TO WATCH
See the above answer in Moncada, and once Moncada earns the callup, look for him to play almost every day. But Moncada does not stand alone, with right-handed starters Reynaldo Lopez, Giolito and Carson Fulmer and right-handed Men’s Nike Personalized Cincinnati Bengals Elite Alternate Orange Football Jersey Shirt reliever Zack Burdi in play to reach the Majors.

Orioles’ Welington Castillo hits grand slam

CHICAGO Customized Cleveland Browns Jersey — Welington Castillo smacked his first career grand slam and recorded a career-best five RBIs as the Orioles snapped their six-game losing six, and an 0-11 mark on the road, with a 10-6 win over the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field on Wednesday night.

“You kind of think you’re having ‘Groundhog Day’ there for a little while, but guys just refused to give in,” Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. “It’s been a tough stretch for us. We didn’t pitch particularly well, but we were fortunate there were a lot of balls hit hard they we were able to make plays on.”

Full Game Coverage

White Sox right-hander Miguel Gonzalez sat through a 90-minute rain delay before surrendering a season-high eight runs — his most since June 25, 2016, at Toronto — with seven of those runs coming in the fourth and fifth innings. He loaded the bases in each of those frames, allowing three to score in the fourth on a fielder’s choice and a two-run single to Hyun Soo Kim before serving up the slam to Castillo in the fifth.

Grand slams mean 40% off pizza

“I felt like my four-seam was cutting,” Gonzalez said. “The ball wasn’t doing what I wanted to. I felt like my [arm] slot was a little lower than usual. It’s something I have to fix, and then we’ll be OK.”

Castillo’s slam, which Statcast™ projected traveled 439 feet, was the Orioles’ second grand slam this season. It was also responsible for four of the seven two-out runs the team had Wednesday.

“Honestly, I like that situation,” Castillo said. “I’m the kind of guy who likes to come into that situation, because I’m not afraid to fail. This game is about making adjustments. I was just patient in that situation and he left me a fastball up, out over [the plate] and I was able to put a good swing on it.”

O’s starter Dylan Bundy lacked his typical poise and command. He allowed more than three runs for the second time this season, allowing five runs (four earned) all in the first two innings. Chicago got to him early on a two-run single, and a Matt Davidson homer. But Bundy retired nine of the last 11 batters he faced.

Bundy K’s Anderson swinging BAL@CWS: Bundy whiffs Anderson in the 5thDylan Bundy gets Tim Anderson to swing and miss for a strikeout in the bottom of the 5th inning

“Throwing and pitching are two different things there,” Bundy said. “I didn’t execute in the first two innings, and then started pitching later in the game.”

Alen Hanson slugged his first Major League home run for the White Sox in the ninth inning. It was the first pinch-hit homer of the season for Chicago.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Second chances: The Orioles looked ready to limit the damage of an early White Sox lead in the second, catching Yolmer Sanchez too far off the bag when rounding third base for what should have been the second out. Orioles second baseman Jonathan Schoop’s throw was high, allowing Sanchez to score and another runner to eventually score on Jose Abreu’s sac fly. Schoop got the last laugh, drawing a two-out walk — his 15th in 249 plate appearances — to load the bases just before Castillo’s grand slam.

“I’m one pitch away, and it’s been like that the whole year, but I’m sure it’s going to change at some point,” Gonzalez said of the Schoop at-bat Customized Carolina Panthers Jersey. “I’m going to put my head down and keep working hard, and good things are going to happen.

Schoop was pleased with his restraint during the key plate appearance.

“If you [make] a mistake, you’ve got to come up and forget about it,” he said. “I was trying to have good at-bats, and trying to [make sure] the ball is a strike. If you know me, you know I’m aggressive, and if you throw it out of the zone, I might get myself out. I had a better game plan today.”

Davidson dingers again: Davidson led off the second inning with a bang, taking Bundy to the opposite field for a leadoff homer — his third blast in as many days. Davidson’s homer had an exit velocity of 106.3 mph and traveled a projected 415 feet, according to Statcast™. This is the first time he’s hit homers in three consecutive games. The blast moved Davidson to 5-for-11 for the series with seven RBIs. He leads the White Sox with 13 home runs this season.

“He’s hitting well but it comes and goes,” White Sox manager Rick Renteria said. “I think for the most part his approach and his routine has been pretty consistent. The outcome hasn’t been what he’s wanted prior to this little spurt and all that he’s kind of picking up again. But I think again if he gets pitches he can handle he’s able to do some damage with them.”

QUOTABLE
“Was that his first career home run? Wow. Goodness. Thank you for telling me that. I didn’t know that. Custom Browns Jersey In the big leagues? Yeah. He went in there, he looked very calm at the plate. Took a couple pitches — or one pitch — and then got a pitch to hit and obviously hit it out of the ballpark. All the Men’s Nike Carolina Panthers Custom Elite Team Color Black Super Bowl 50 Bound Jersey guys were excited for him, yes.” — Renteria, on Hanson’s first career homer

“I’m going to get a couple swings off. That’s my expectation right now. I’m in the lineup … DH, first base, wherever. I’m in the lineup and that’s a big thing for me.” — Orioles rookie David Washington, who went 0-for-4 and struck out three times in his Major League debut

White Sox right Custom Panthers Jersey fielder Avisail Garcia continues to impress in a breakout 2017, and did so again Wednesday night in collecting three hits against the Orioles. It marked the American League-leading 10th time this season Garcia has collected three hits in a game, moving his season batting average to .339 — second-best in the AL.

White Sox go for polished hitters in Draft Men’s Nike Carolina Panthers Custom Elite Team Color Black Super Bowl 50 Bound Jersey

CHICAGO — The 2017 MLB Draft for the White Sox, which concluded Wednesday, was not onCustom Panthers Jerseye based on selecting for a specific position need.

Those players represent a change under general manager Rick Hahn, with a move away from the pure athletes to the more polished baseball players.

“I don’t know if it’s fair to say change in philosophy,” Hahn said. “We want to have guys who we project will have an impact in Chicago and fit a certain profile both offensively as well as ideally defensively and how we want the game played.

“We are looking for athletic players like everybody in the game. But certainly those who come with a level of acumen and have a track record of success and are able to bring certain elements to the game we’ve been lacking for the last several years around here.”

In total, the White Sox selected 22 pitchers (14 right-handers, eight left-handers), two catchers, nine infielders and seven outfielders. They picked 34 collegiate players and six from the high school level.

Through the first 30 rounds, eighth-rounder Sam Abbott stood as the only high school pick. He was an All-State water polo player and a projectable baseball
Men’s Nike Cincinnati Bengals Customized Elite Away White NFL Football Jersey player.

“There was a time in the third round where we were targeting a high school guy and got picked,” Hostetler said. “We got picked three different times on high school players.”

First-round pick Jake Burger, a third baseman from Missouri State, figures to be part of the first big wave of White Sox prospects coming in the next year or year and a half. He’s also an example of the power emphasis, along with the low-strikeout, high-walk philosophy targeted the last two years.

“You will see what’s more important to us is understanding of the strike zone and doing damage on pitches within the zone,” Hahn said. “Trying the best to lay off pitches out of the zone.

White Sox pick Larry King’s son

“Not every pick is going to be exactly on the screws for all regards. You try to find enough guys that have a balanced skillset and a level of performance and a level of enthusiasm from scouts in that room that they project that player continuing to be or becoming a player that we feel can have success in Chicago.”

Customized Cleveland Browns Jersey Hostetler joked about any scouting director not happy with their Draft probably should be fired the next day. But he seemed genuinely pleased with his second class at the helm.

“We’ve added high-impact, power middle-of-the-order bats that really control the strike zone,” said Hostetler, who pointed to 11th-round pick Will Kincanon and 14th-round pick Alex Destino as possible standouts from Wednesday. “That was our key. We started adding some guys who can run today and we had some big power arms.”
