Jadeveon Clowney and J.J. Watt Football Jerseys finalizing deal with White Sox

The White Sox are finalizing a deal with Cuban free-agent outfielder Luis Robert, according to an industry source. The club has not confirmed the information.

The deal is expected to be worth more than $25 million, and likely in the $26-27 million range, according to the source, and it will be the Jaelen Strong Jersey highest bonus for an international amateur under the current signing guidelines. Cuban prospect Yoan Moncada set the record when he signed for $31.5 million with the Red Sox in 2015.

Robert, 19, is considered the second-best international prospect behind Japanese dual phenom Shohei Ohtani. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound outfielder is a five-tool player who scouts believe can reach the big leagues quickly. Robert was ranked the No. 1 prospect on MLB Pipeline’s Top 30 International Prospects list, which ranks the top players available during each signing period.

Robert, who was declared a free agent by Major League Baseball last month, hit .393 with 12 home runs and 11 stolen bases in Cuba’s Serie Nacional, the island’s top league, last season. The right-handed hitter Jadeveon Clowney Jersey, who profiles as a center fielder with plus power and speed, was described by one American League international scouting director as “the best player on the planet.”

The young and talented Robert appears to be the perfect type of player for a rebuilding team that doesn’t expect to contend until 2019. Chicago signed first baseman Jose Abreu out of Cuba in 2013 and traded for Moncada in Lamar Miller Jersey December, Derek Newton Jersey a reputation as one of the most aggressive teams on the international market.

What’s more, Chicago has not been linked to any high-profile prospects for the next international signing period that starts July 2, which bodes well because the club will enter the maximum penalty and cannot sign players for more than $300,000 after blowing past their current pool J.J. Watt Jersey amount by signing Robert.

Houston Texans Braxton Miller Jersey Avisail Garcia hits two home runs

SEATTLE — Avisail Garcia continued his red-hot start to the season with two home runs and a career-best four hits Lamar Miller Jersey and six RBIs on Saturday as the White Sox rolled to a 16-1 victory over the Mariners at Safeco Field.

Garcia also doubled twice in his 4-for-5 night as the 25-year-old right fielder moved into the American League batting lead with a .357 average. The White Sox racked up their most runs and hits (19) of the season in the one-sided affair and improved to 19-22 with their second straight win.

Full Game Coverage

“He’s been having really good at-bats, he’s driving the ball,” White Sox manager Rick Renteria said of Garcia. “That was a pretty good poke to center, right-center field. Just in general it opened up the game for us in the first inning a little bit with that homer. That’s kind of been Avi all year long, pretty consistent.”

Veteran right-hander Yovani Gallardo surrendered 10 runs (nine earned) on nine hits in 3 2/3 innings for Seattle and gave up both of Garcia’s long balls as he fell to 2-4 with a 5.84 ERA. Dillon Overton threw a pair of scoreless innings in relief before allowing five more runs on six hits in the seventh, including home runs by Matt Davidson and Willy Garcia.

“Not our night,” said Mariners manager Scott Servais. “Not a good start at all. Fortunately, it only counts for one loss. But from the get-go, as sharp as Gallardo was his last outing, he really couldn’t get any rhythm.”

The Mariners dropped into last place in the American League West at 20-24 and will see their string of five straight victorious home series snapped as they’ve lost two of three to the White Sox heading into Brian Cushing Jersey Sunday’s finale.

Mike Pelfrey picked up his first win of the season — and the first win by a White Sox starter since May 4 — with six innings of one-run ball. Pelfrey (1-4, 4.85 ERA) allowed just four hits with no walks and three strikeouts. More >>

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
High flyin’: Avisail Garcia’s three-run homer in the first capped a four-run frame off Gallardo that wasn’t helped any when Alfred Blue Jersey second baseman Mike Freeman booted a grounder by Melky Cabrera to cost Seattle a possible double play. Instead, the White Sox had runners on first and second and Jose Abreu drove in the first run with a double to left. Avisail Garcia then cleared the bases with his high arching fly to left field, which carried just over the fence at a projected distance of 355 feet, per Statcast™. Avisail Garcia added his second homer with a solo shot in the third.

“The most frustrating thing is I never gave the guys a chance to come back and battle,” Gallardo said. “It was just one of those days it seemed like everything put in play was getting through and when I did make a mistake, it went over the J.J.Watt Jersey.”

Melk-man delivers: Cabrera capped the White Sox’s five-run fourth with a two-run, bases-loaded single to left as the visitors knocked Gallardo out of the game. The 32-year-old left fielder also chipped in defensively with a nice diving catch in the bottom of the fourth to rob Ben Gamel of a hit.

QUOTABLE
“He’s having a great year. One of the more impressive guys we’ve seen all year. He’s on everything. Very aggressive player, he plays hard. Even though they haven’t scored a lot of runs coming in, they have a decent offensive team and when they get momentum going – on any team — it’s tough to stop,” — Servais on Avisail Garcia

“I felt very good today; I felt more aggressive at home plate. More confident, too. Every at-bat or every game, I gain more confidence of myself. I think Derek Newton Jersey that’s why I’m better every day,” — Avisail Garcia, on his improvement as a hitter

SOUND SMART WITH YOUR FRIENDS
Gallardo had a 1.06 ERA in three prior career starts against the White Sox with just two earned runs in 17 innings, but that number climbed to 4.79 after Saturday’s outing.

Avisaíl García became the third White Sox player to have four extra-base hits and six RBIs in a game, joining Robin Ventura (1991) and Pat Seerey (1948).

The 16 runs was the most by the White Sox since they put up 16 at Texas on April 20, 2014.

UTILITY MAN INDEED
Freeman became the sixth Mariners position player to pitch in a game (catcher Jesus Sucre did it twice) when he threw the ninth inning, allowing one run on three hits while unveiling a 75-mph fastball and several curves in the Jaelen Strong Jersey 60-65 mph range . The last Mariners position player used on the mound was infielder Luis Sardinas, who threw a 1-2-3 inning last July 29 against the Cubs in a 12-1 loss. More >>

WHAT’S NEXT
White Sox: Lefty Derek Holland is having a resurgent start of the season after signing with Chicago on an incentive-laden one-year deal. Holland is 3-3 with a 2.70 ERA, after he posted two straight seasons in Texas with an ERA over 4.00. He’ll face the Mariners today at 3:10 p.m. CT.

Mariners: Right-hander Chris Heston will be recalled from Triple-A Tacoma to start Sunday’s 1:10 p.m. PT series finale with the White Sox. Heston, who threw a no-hitter and won 12 games for the Giants in 2015, is 2-1 with a 3.41 ERA in six starts for Tacoma

Phillies’ Jadeveon Clowney Jersey Cheap stays hot for Reading J.J. Watt Shirts

Scott Kingery has found his power stroke.

The Phillies’ No. 11 prospect hit a pair of Jadeveon Clowney Jersey solo homers, in the seventh and ninth innings, as part of a 4-for-5 day, but it was not enough for Double-A Reading as the Fightin Phils fell 8-7 to New Hampshire.

The homers are part of a recent power surge in what has already been a bit of a breakthrough season for the 2015 second-round pick, who now leads the Eastern League with 13 homers.

“Everyone keeps asking me if I’m a home run hitter and I keep telling them no,” Kingery told MiLB.com. “I’m honestly just trying to put a good, line-drive swing on the ball, and for some reason I’m hitting them in the air and they’re getting some carry on them. For me, it’s not about hitting home runs, but they just happen to be going out right now.”

Kingery has gone deep four times over his past three games — including a two-homer game on Friday — and Jaelen Strong Jersey six times over his past seven games.

While those numbers would be impressive for anyone, they are even more remarkable when put in context with the rest of his career: Kingery began the season with just eight homers in 197 games.

Other top prospect performances from Sunday’s action:

No. 39 overall prospect Reynaldo Lopez (White Sox No. 4) was stuck with a no-decision despite another strong start for Triple-A Charlotte. Lopez gave up one run on three hits in six innings, throwing 53 of his 85 pitches for strikes. The 23-year-old righty has a 2.94 ERA through 49 innings and has surrendered one earned run or fewer in four of his past five starts.

No. 100 overall prospect Luis Urias (Padres’ No. 4) extended his hitting streak to eight games with JJ Watt Jersey a 3-for-5 effort for Double-A San Antonio. Urias, just 19 years old, has hits in 13 of his past 14 games and is slashing .344/.429/.485 through 41 games.

• Bryan Reynolds (Giants’ No. 3) set a career high with five hits, going 5-for-6 with four RBIs for Class A Advanced San Jose. Reynolds’ three-run triple highlighted a five-run fourth in a game in which practically Alfred Blue Jersey everything went right for the former second-round pick.

• Pirates No. 4 prospect Ke’Bryan Hayes put together his third consecutive multi-hit game in Class A Advanced Bradenton’s win over Fort Myers. Hayes, who has hits in six of the past seven games, finished 3-for-5 with four RBIs.

• Cubs prospects Mark Zagunis (No. 6) and DeAndre Hopkins Jersey Victor Caratini (No. 12) combined for five hits, two homers and four RBIs, but it wasn’t enough as Triple-A Iowa fell to Tacoma, 8-7. Zagunis collected a season-high three hits, going 3-for-5 with a homer, two doubles and an RBI. Caratini, who finished 2-4 with a homer and three RBIs, continues to hit well. The 23-year-old has back-to-back multi-hit games and is batting .458 (11-for-24) over his past six games.

• Kyle Funkhouser (Tigers’ No. 6) may have faced stiffer competition, but he found a way to dominate anyway. The 23-year-old set a career high with 10 strikeouts over 7 2/3 innings in his Class A Advanced Lakeland debut. Funkhouser, who had a 3.16 ERA through Brian Cushing Jersey seven starts at the Class A level this season, gave up two runs on three hits without walking a batter.

• Steven Brault (Pirates’ No. 8) tossed seven scoreless innings, a season high, for Triple-A Indianapolis in a 3-2 win over Toledo. The lefty threw 65 of his 98 pitches for strikes, struck out four and gave up just a trio of hits.

“I was just attacking hitters — staying athletic, not overthinking things,” Brault told MiLB.com. “Toledo is more of a strength team; they’re a little more aggressive. The Braxton Miller Jersey was a lot of decent or weak contact and then I kept my defenders engaged, not taking too much time in between pitches. I think that always helps.”

Angels No. 11 prospect David Fletcher set season highs in both hits and RBIs, going 4-for-4 with a trio of of runs driven in for Double-A Mobile. The shortstop plated two with a single in the first and another with a base hit in the fourth.

• Matt Olson (Athletics’ No. 15) bumped his hitting streak to six games with a perfect 4-for-4, three-RBI day at the plate for Triple-A Nashville. Olson also hit his 10th homer of the season, a solo blast in the eighth, as the Sounds beat Sacramento, 4-0.

• Yankees No. 19 prospect Nick Solak hit his second homer of the season and reached base five times for Class A Advanced Tampa. Solak, 22, notched his third three-hit game of the season, going 3-for-4 with two walks, a homer and two RBIs.

Brewers No. 20 prospect Corbin Burnes lowered his ERA to 1.00 through 54 innings for Class A Carolina after shutting out Winston-Salem over seven innings. Burnes, who struck out a career-high 10, has held opponents scoreless in five of his nine starts C.J.Fiedorowicz Jersey this season, including three of his past four.

• Monte Harrison (Brewers’ No. 22) matched his season high in both hits and RBIs as he went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs for Class A Wisconsin. Harrison, 21, has seven homers and 20 RBIs through 38 games this season.

Phillies No. 24 prospect Ben Lively threw a gem for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The 25-year-old posted his first scoreless start of the season as he threw six strong innings against Syracuse. Lively lowered his ERA to 2.79 and struck out nine, the most he’s fanned in a game this season.

Leury Garcia back in White Sox lineup Braxton Miller Texans Football Jersey

SEATTLE — Center fielder Leury Garcia was back in the White Sox lineup and batting leadoff Sunday, two days after Braxton Miller Jersey getting hit on the elbow by a pitch from the Mariners’ Sam Gaviglio.

He had been day to day in the meantime, expressing confidence that he could probably return if needed, but the White Sox brought him back with caution, using him as a late-game substitution. A batting-practice session Friday was probably the final indication that he was ready.

Full Game Coverage

“During BP yesterday, he was sharing with us that he thought he DeAndre Hopkins Jersey was back to 100 percent,” White Sox manager Rick Renteria said before Sunday’s series finale. “A little sore. Just giving him the day yesterday was good enough to alleviate a little more, and obviously, we have him back in there today.”

Garcia C.J.Fiedorowicz Jersey was hitting .298 when the sore elbow kept him out of the starting lineup. Bringing him back meant rookie Willy Garcia returned to the bench after two days of subbing in for his surname-sharing teammate.

It was an eventful two days for Willy Garcia, who went 2-for-6 in his two starts, including a three-run blast Saturday in a 16-1 victory over the Mariners — his first Major League homer.

“I think he’s been looking and feeling pretty confident since he got Alfred Blue Jersey here,” Renteria said. “Obviously, that was his first homer as a big leaguer, so that’s pretty exciting for everybody. But I think he is feeling and looking very comfortable at the plate and in the field.”

Garcia even got a taste of a newish MLB ritual — the silent treatment after returning to the dugout after his milestone homer.

“I think that’s something that’s kind of evolved over the years,” Renteria said. “But he gets it. He appreciates the guys.”

Garcia entered Sunday hitting .242 (8-for-33) in 12 games since joining the big league club April 14.

Custom Dodgers Jersey White Sox need backup catchers to step up

ANAHEIM — Catching was never going to be the offensive strength for the White Sox, but some production is required.

Now that they have officially lost starting catcher Geovany Soto for at least three months to elbow surgery, manager Rick Renteria will have to find a way to get
Custom Dodgers Jersey the most from relatively inexperienced catchers Omar Narvaez and Kevan Smith.

Full Game Coverage

It figures to be a difficult challenge. Neither catcher has much Major League experience.

It may not be strict platoon. Renteria started the right-handed-hitting Smith, 28, Monday against right-hander Jesse Chavez. On Tuesday, he started Narvaez against right-hander JC Ramirez.

Narvaez, 25, hits left-handed. Smith has actually hit right-handers slightly better, batting .182 for his career, while still looking for his first hit this season in eight at-bats against a right-hander.

“Both of them continue to develop,” Renteria said. “Smithy was here a little bit last year before he got hurt. He tweaked his back a little bit and was not able to participate. Now that he’s here and Narvi is here, I’ll continue to rotate them back and forth.”

Narvaez is hitting .250 vs. right-handed pitchers, but only .154 against left-
Men’s Authentic Custom Colorado Rockies Home White Baseball Jersey Cheap handers.

Last season, Narvaez hit .267 in 101 at-bats, while Smith hit .125 in just 16 at-bats.

There are no great offensive numbers there to build much hope around.

At the moment, Renteria said there is no exact plan for their usage.

“There will be days when they have back-to-back days,” he said. “I think we’ll also have conversations with [pitching coach Don Cooper].

“There are sometimes when we might want a catcher to take another pitcher,
Personalized Colorado Rockies Jersey just to take him for the game on that day and see how he can manage that particular aspect with that particular individual. We want them to be able to catch all the guys, so we’ll continue to mix them up.”

Right-hander issues

Catching is hardly the only position where the White Sox have struggled
Personalized Los Angeles Dodgers Jersey offensively against right-handers. As a team, their right-handed-heavy lineup is batting just .223 with an on-base
Men’s Los Angeles Dodgers Authentic Personalized Royal Blue MLB BP Jersey Cheap percentage of .282.

Renteria has a simple plan to turn things around.

“Hit ’em,” he said. “Continue to have better at-bats. Obviously try not to do too much, stay within ourselves. We’re pretty right-handed, so we have to get these guys to get the ball up in the zone where we can handle it a little bit better.

“Obviously they use a lot of secondary pitches that we’re going to have to be able to fight or actually put in play in certain situations. We’ll find a way. Just keep battling.”

Custom Twins Jersey Rick Renteria regrets not pulling Mike Pelfrey

ANAHEIM — Since the start of his White Sox managerial tenure, Rick Renteria
Custom Twins Jersey has preached team above individual. He has talked about playing for the name on the front of the jersey as opposed to the name on the back.

But it was Renteria who told reporters about breaking that philosophy in a key
Custom Astros Jersey moment of Monday’s 5-3 loss to the Angels at Angel Stadium.

Full Game Coverage

Mike Pelfrey, who was effectively wild for most of the night, had a two-on, two-out situation in the fifth inning with the White Sox leading by a 3-0 margin and left-handed-hitting Kole Calhoun at the plate. Renteria had left-handed reliever Dan Jennings warming in the bullpen, but chose to stay with Pelfrey and try to
Personalized Houston Astros Jersey push him through five in what turned into Men’s Authentic Personalized Houston Astros Commemorative 50th Year Alternate Orange Jersey a game-tying home run from Calhoun.

“Pelf gave us a nice four-plus innings. Really, he gave us enough to do what we need to do,” Renteria said. “I had those guys out there ready to pick him up and I didn’t. I went against my better judgment.

“Honestly, we had [Jennings] ready for Calhoun and a righty ready. That’s not any of their faults but mine. At least it would have given us a better chance. I can’t guarantee that the outcome would have been what we wanted, but the
Youth Authentic Custom Houston Astros Home White Commemorative 50th Anniversary Patch Jersey matchups would have been better.”

Anthony Swarzak, who yielded a double Andrelton Simmons in the sixth inning — the second hit allowed to the last 50 batters faced — replaced Pelfrey in the fifth. Swarzak was ready to face Mike Trout after Calhoun, but Pelfrey stayed in the game and yielded Trout’s go-ahead home run.

Pelfrey went to at least a three-ball count against 11 Angels hitters. Cameron Maybin worked the count full with one out in the fateful fifth, but Pelfrey’s 3-2 sinker within the strike zone was called ball four by home plate umpire Mike
Men’s Authentic Customized Minnesota Twins Home White Baseball Jersey Cheap DiMuro. That call changed the complexion of the inning, but not the point of blame for Pelfrey.

“I’m pretty frustrated. Pretty disappointed. Pretty tough to swallow after being given that 3-0 lead and giving it right back. It [stinks],” Pelfrey told reporters after falling to 0-4. “I felt like it was 3-2 to everybody. Eventually it caught up to
Personalized Minnesota Twins Jersey me. Pretty bad to give up three runs on one hit, and walking guys.”

In five starts with the White Sox, Pelfrey has worked into the sixth inning only one time. The deeper he works, the more problems Pelfrey seems to face. He now has allowed nine of his 16 runs this season in pitches 75 to 100.

That statistic also could have factored into the pitching-change decision for Renteria. Instead, it became a tough but teachable moment for Renteria himself.

“Today my emotions for an individual came before the reality of managing for a team,” Renteria said. “You cannot do that and win ballgames consistently over an
Youth Authentic Customized Minnesota Twins Navy Blue Alternate Road Jersey extended period of time.

“This one doesn’t sit well with me. I’m sure it doesn’t sit well with very many
Website people. I agree with them. But it’s not something we’ve been doing all year long. It’s something we went against. We’ve been thinking team first, and we’re going to continue to do it.”

Custom Cardinals Jersey Dylan Covey has career high nine strikeouts

CHICAGO — Dylan Covey knew things had to change.

He was far from satisfied with an 8.28 ERA over 25 innings entering a 5-4 White Sox victory over the Padres Saturday night at Guaranteed Rate Field. And to be
Custom Cardinals Jersey honest, the rookie right-hander was done pitching to contact as he had done too often in his first five starts.

Saturday marked the time to “let it go” with his best stuff, according to Covey, a
Personalized St Louis Cardinals Jersey philosophy resulting in a career-high
Men’s Authentic Custom Stitched St. Louis Cardinals Alternate Cream Jersey nine strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings and 91 pitches.

“Yeah, I was getting tired of getting beat with my mediocre stuff,” said Covey, who has provided honest assessments of his work since arriving with the White Sox as a Rule 5 pick from Oakland. “So I went out there and gave it all I had with
Custom Rays Jersey every pitch. I would have liked to go deeper, but the pitch
Men’s Authentic Customized St. Louis Cardinals Home White Baseball Jersey Cheap count was climbing a little bit.

“My last few outings, I felt like it was just mediocre pitches. Pitches that didn’t have conviction behind them, hanging breaking balls, stuff like that. Today everything was a little bit more sharp, and I was able to bury the breaking balls in the dirt.”

San Diego did connect for five hits and three runs off Covey, along with his third straight start allowing two or more home runs. But he only walked two to go with
Men’s Authentic Custom Tampa Bay Rays Alternate Navy Blue Baseball Jersey the nine whiffs, after coming into Saturday’s game with 11 strikeouts and 11 walks overall.

Manuel Margot connected on a first pitch home run off Covey, marking the Padres’ second straight night with a leadoff blast on the first pitch. That moment might have been the best thing imaginable for Covey and his more forceful attitude.

“Going into that game, I was thinking I’m just going to leave it all out there,”
Personalized Tampa Bay Rays Jersey Covey said. “That first pitch kind of lit a fire underneath me, and I kind of started attacking guys right after that.”

“He had better stuff than I’ve seen in his last few outings,” said Padres manager Andy Green of Covey. “He threw the ball relatively well, but we had him out by the fifth inning.”

Carrying this point of success over to his next start against Seattle on Thursday becomes the next key step for Covey. But on this night, the 25-year-old showed a
Men’s Authentic Personalized Tampa Bay Rays Alternate Royal Blue Baseball Jersey little bit more of what the White Sox originally liked about him.

“We hope it’s something that he can build on,” White Sox manager Rick Renteria said. “But we’ll see. It’s one of those things where, again, it’s a work in progress and hopefully it’s something good and positive.”

“Everything was a little bit sharper and crisper,” Covey said. “Just need to learn
MLB from this and carry this over into my next outing and try to go a little bit deeper next time.”

Leury Garcia custom Saints jersey lifts two home runs for White Sox

CHICAGO — One of the White Sox Garcias hit two home runs during San Diego’s 6-3 victory Friday night at Guaranteed Custom Saints Jersey Rate Field.

It was not Avisail Garcia, who stands 6-foot-4, 240 pounds, although he knocked out two hits to raise his average to .347. It wasn’t Willy Garcia, who checks in at 6-foot-2, 215 pounds.

Full Game Coverage

Leury Garcia, the smallest of the trio at 5-foot-8, did the damage. He kept the White Sox close by driving in all three runs.

“I feel pretty good,” said Garcia, who produced his first career multi-homer game. “Like I said before, when you play, you get more at-bats. Just try to put the ball in play and swing at strikes and see what happens.”

“He did a nice job and had some really good at-bats, very productive at-bats,” White Sox manager Rick Renteria said. “We’re very happy to see that, and hopefully it continues.”

With Tim Anderson gone for the customized new orleans saints jersey weekend to attend his close friend’s funeral in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Leury moved to shortstop Friday. His eyes light up when talking about a return to his natural position, although he certainly didn’t want to return under such tragic circumstances.

And it didn’t take long for Garcia to show a proficiency at the spot, throwing out Hunter Renfroe trying to go from second to third with one out in the second on Allen Cordoba’s grounder.

“I know the guy that was hitting, he can run a little bit,” Garcia said. “When I saw the runner coming, I just went to third. Wherever they put me in the lineup, I just play.”

“It’s the same role,” Renteria said. “He’s going to play in Men’s Washington Redskins Nike 95 Jonathan Allen Team Color Red Elite Jersey center or short or we’re trying to find spots that he’s going to field. Obviously he’s very talented and can play multiple positions.”

Friday’s three-hit effort extended Leury’s hitting streak to five games, with a .400 average during that stretch. His two-run shot to right in the third — with an exit velocity of 100.9 mph and a launch angle of 28 degrees, per Statcast™ — and his solo blast in the seventh were Garcia’s most impressive feats. But he’s thriving in 2017 with a regular chance to play.

White Sox Rick Renteria proud of club’s heart NY Giants Custom Jersey

CHICAGO — There weren’t many positive moments produced by the White Sox through the Custom Giants Jersey first three innings of Thursday’s 7-6 loss to the Twins at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Minnesota scored the game’s first six runs off Derek Holland, with four first-inning runs being unearned because of first baseman Jose Abreu’s error on what would have been an inning-ending double-play. At the plate, the White Sox had no hits against Twins starter Phil Hughes through three.

Full Game Coverage

Manager Rick Renteria’s crew didn’t give up, though, finishing one run short.

“When we got to the point where we were at in that ballgame … I’m sure everybody thought it was all over,” Renteria said. “It certainly wasn’t, because they ended up having to bring in their closer for a five-out Customized NY Giants Jersey save. That says something for our club.”

Brandon Kintzler recorded the first five-out save of his career for the Twins, having to strand runners on second and third in the eighth by striking out Omar Narvaez and Leury Garcia. The White Sox did make matters interesting behind a three-run homer from Melky Cabrera, Matt Davidson’s solo shot and four innings of hitless relief from Anthony Swarzak, Dan Jennings, Tommy Kahnle and David Robertson, including the last six outs coming via strikeout.

“That’s kind of what you ask for personalized NY Giants jersey from our team every night,” Davidson said. “We want to come out on top, but we want to give every team a fight and [have them] know we’re not backing down.”

“It was huge,” Holland said of the comeback. “No matter what, we didn’t give in. That’s what it’s all about. I put us in a hole. The offense came up big. We didn’t get what we wanted, the final result, but that shows a lot of heart from this team.”

Holland acknowledged that the club needs to stay the course during this rough patch, having lost five New York Giants straight — its longest skid since dropping six in a row from Sept. 17-23, 2016. The White Sox have been limited to 15 runs over the five losses, going 5-for-31 with runners in scoring position and stranding 38 baserunners.

These moral victories might outnumber actual victories by the time the season is over for a rebuilding White Sox club. They have played better than everyone outside of the clubhouse expected at the start of this season, but their look could change drastically as the non-waiver Trade Deadline approaches.

General manager Rick Hahn has spoken about tough stretches the franchise will have to endure as part of the rebuild, but he also has talked about doing things the right way on the field, even in defeat.

• Hahn: White Sox being patient on trade front

Thursday’s effort wasn’t perfect, but a somewhat feisty Renteria stood behind his group’s will and focus even after the rough start.

“Well, it wasn’t as deflating http://www.ecustomfootballshirts.com/Customized-New-York-Giants-Jersey as you might think, because we kept fighting,” Renteria said of the Abreu error. “We came within one toward the end. It wasn’t deflating enough. It was just not a good start, to say the least. But that being said, I thought, ‘For goodness sake, we got those guys out there continuing to battle, chip away.'”

But Moncada’s teammates did their best to sum him up on the field before their series opener with Indianapolis.

“The guy is incredible,” said White Sox pitcher Carson Fulmer, the team’s fifth-ranked prospect. “He has outstanding abilities. We are glad that he’s on our team

“He’s great. He’s a special player,” White Sox pitcher Tyler Danish said. “You get to see something you don’t really see a lot every night, power-wise, speed-wise,

Moncada backed up those compliments by earning the International League Batter of the Week for May 1-7. The 21-year-old finished 11-for-22 with two home runs, four RBIs, eight runs scored and an .818 slugging percentage in six games. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound switch-hitter is batting .352 with six homers, 11 RBIs, 24 runs scored, seven stolen bases, a .427 on-base percentage and .565 slugging

Everyone can agree Moncada possesses Major League talent and quite possibly elite Major League talent. That immense talent doesn’t necessarily mean Moncada is ready for the Majors tomorrow or next week or even next month.

It’s an important learning process for an individual who came into this season with 20 big league plate appearances but also no at-bats at the Triple-A level.

“I’ve learned that baseball is a process. You have to go step by step,” said Moncada through interpreter Billy Russo. “That’s one of the things I learned this year. Also I learned that you have to make adjustments at every level, but especially in the big leagues.

“You are facing the best pitchers and you have to make adjustments every day.

Just try to do adjustments every day and try to take advantage of the adjustments.”

One other trait used to describe Moncada is “quiet.” It’s not that Moncada has been overwhelmed by fame — he actually seems to have a solid grasp on the attention by media and fans and the high level of expectations as the centerpiece of a five-player trade sending Chris Sale to Boston.

That quietness denotes Moncada’s personality, although certainly doesn’t prevent him from talking to manager Mark Grudzielanek or conversing with his teammates. Grudzielanek described Moncada as loosening up a bit and one of those guys you have to get to know before playing around with him.

As for his Major League preparedness, Grudzielanek knows Moncada will benefit in more ways than at-bats and defensive reps in the Minors.

“There are so many more little things, detailed stuff, you have to learn and understand,” Grudzielanek said. “He’s there, he’s getting there. You could throw him up there right now and he’d be fine; there’s no question about it. There will be some things there, ‘How come he didn’t know that, or this?’

“Well, he’s 21 years old. How many Minor League games has he played in? Again,
